Just looked at a used Ford 1520, 2wd, gear shift with 495 hours on the tractor. It has a 6 ft rear mower and very noticeably rust on the mower and some rust on the tractor. The asking price is $7,000. Would appreciatel advice on price, reliability and tractor in general. The intended use is for a 5 acres with hills.

I bought a ford 1620 with hydrostat trans, 4 wheel drive, 72 inch mid mount mower and 641 hrs. It was in mint condition. Barely a scratch. I paid $9900 a year ago for it. I have since put 70 hrs on it and it runs great. I'm sure you will like yours but the price seems a little steep. As you know the key is maintenance. ....

I have the earlier 1500 4wd. My guess is that with hills to mow you will not be happy with 2wd on this tractor. It is fairly light and I think you would need the 4wd.

Good Luck ....
